Eurail, the European rail pass company, has announced two new overnight trains routes in Italy and an additional partner in Denmark just in time for summer travel.
The network will be expanded to include Lokaltog, a regional Danish rail company operating on three islands in the Scandinavian nation. As of April 1, 2023, the Lokaltog routes will be added to the Eurail network.
These train lines are located on Zealand Island, also known as Sjaelland Island in Denmark. This island is home to Copenhagen, the Danish capital. The addition of these routes to the Eurail network will allow visitors to Copenhagen to explore more of the region including the coastal villages and Fredensborg Palace.
Two Overnight Trains to Dolce Vita
Eurail announced two overnight trains to Italy this summer, offering travelers an “intimate” slow-travel experience in the heartland of the country. The journey will end on the Adriatic Sea shores.
Two Sisters Beach in Italy’s Conero Riviera
From June onwards, travelers can depart from multiple cities to arrive the following morning in Ancona (or vice versa). Bologna, which is often referred to as Italy’s culinary capital, Pesaro, and Rimini are all popular stops.
Ancona, the capital of the Marche, is a great place to explore the beauty of the Conero Riviera. It also serves as a departure point for popular ferry services to Croatia and Greece. This opens up a world of possibilities for tourists.
The two new routes follow the introduction of overnight services from Vienna, Austria, or Munich, Germany, to La Spezia in Italy earlier this year. This route makes stops in Milan and Genoa on its way to La Spezia. La Spezia is located along the Ligurian Coast, and it is the ideal springboard from which to explore the Cinque Terre.
With a Eurail pass, travelers can travel across train and ferry networks in 33 countries with just one ticket. The “Global Pass”, which allows access to all countries, or the “One Country Pass”, allow travelers to travel to as many destinations as they wish during the validity of the pass.
