Enterprise Holdings ROAD Forward initiative awards grants to local nonprofits for the third year in a row. This is part of Enterprise’s $55 million ROAD Forward five-year commitment. The organization will distribute the more than $7million in grants this year to local nonprofits across its 70+ operating groups located in the United States and Canada.

ROAD Forward has granted $33 million to more than 980 nonprofits. More than 70% of the recipients this year received a grant for a third consecutive year.

Carolyn Kindle, President of Enterprise Holdings Foundation, said that after three years the program has provided real and tangible benefits in addressing social and racial equality in the communities we operate. We are proud to support hundreds of outstanding organizations in their efforts to continue growing and making a positive impact.

Enterprise employees can help identify local groups that are working to close the social and racial gaps in their community by nominating them for grants.

Among the notable grant recipients for 2023 are:

In North America, three-time recipients of grants include 100 Black Men DC which promotes childhood success by mentoring; The Bottom Line which works with students from low income backgrounds to help them pursue higher education, as well as RISE 5280 which is a first-time recipient and is dedicated to closing the educational achievement gap and promoting fiscal mobility.

In Europe, the Girls’ Network, a UK-based organization, has received ROAD Forward grant funds totaling over $300,000 in the last three years. The grants are intended to empower girls with low income backgrounds by providing mentorship. Children for a better World e.V. is a German organisation that aims at improving the living conditions for children in need, and encouraging youth involvement in societal issues.

Errin Braddock, Chief Diversity Officer at Enterprise Holdings, said: “This program has addressed systemic, longstanding social and race equity gaps in our community in a number of crucial ways since its inception.” It’s inspiring to see the ROAD Forward Initiative’s wide reach in seven countries and more than 400 communities.

Enterprise Holdings ROAD Forward

Enterprise Holdings announced today that it is advancing its ROAD Forward initiative. This initiative involves a $55 million five-year commitment to address the social and racial gaps in communities where we are active. This includes $35 million allocated to 70+ global operating teams across five years. Another $20 million will support four nationally recognized nonprofit organizations in the U.S., including My Brother’s Keeper Alliance (a program of the Obama Foundation), Girls Inc., Parents as Teachers, and UNCF.

The ROAD Forward commitment is centered on four pillars: Respect, Opportunity Achievement and Diversity (ROAD), for youth and their families. It aims to help close the social and racial gaps in three areas of importance: early childhood development; youth health and wellbeing; and career and college planning.
