In 2024, Riviera River Cruises will add a new vessel and a brand new itinerary to the Douro River between Portugal and Spain.
Between July and October next year, the MS Porto Mirante is scheduled to sail 10 departures on the Highlights Douro Valley & Salamanca River itinerary. In a press release, the company explained that this move was made in response to a growing demand by travelers. In recent years, the demand for Portugal holidays among American tourists has steadily increased.
In a recent statement, Marilyn Conroy said that the Douro River itinerary has become one of Riviera River Cruises’ most popular. To keep up with this demand, we are launching a brand new ship as well as a completely new itinerary.
The Porto Mirante joins Riviera’s MS Douro Elegance, MS Douro Splendour and MS Douro Splendour which already sail the Douro River Cruise, Porto River Cruise, and Salamanca River Cruise.
The new MS Porto Mirante, a cruise ship from the company, will take guests to the heart of Portugal’s winelands on the Douro River. It will also offer excursions led locally by experts. The 262-foot MS Porto Mirante has an atrium lounge and bar with floor-to ceiling windows, a restaurant, fitness center, and a sun deck with a bar, splash pool, and sand lounge.
