Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), Norwegian Jewel, will undergo a three-week drydock in early 2024. This will allow the ship to be equipped with a Thermal Suite at the Mandara Spa & Salon, an expanded Vibe Beach Club and 24 new staterooms. The Haven Premier Owners Suites will also be enlarged and redesigned.
Norwegian Joy will resume service in February on an 11 day Transatlantic journey from Southampton to Miami. In March, the airline will launch service on seven day roundtrip Caribbean routes from Miami before positioning to Bermuda during summer 2024.
NCL President David J. Herrera said, “We are adding the most loved spaces and offerings to our ships in order to enhance the guest’s experience aboard Norwegian Joy.” The new staterooms will offer a wider range of options, and the full-service world-class spa will allow guests to relax during their time at sea.
NCL announced that the new Thermal Suite will replace the Galaxy Pavilion. It will feature a more central layout, a separate area with hot tile loungers and new therapies and experience.
NCL stated that “in order to continue offering guests more choices of accommodations, this redesign will include repurposing an area of the Observation Lounge in order to create 24 new balconies staterooms as well as recategorizing 40 spa balcony staterooms which will have direct access to Mandara Spa as well as the premiere Thermal Suite.”
The Haven by Norwegian Premier Suites with a large balcony will also be extended to three bedrooms due to unprecedented demand. The two suites include three bedrooms, three-and-a half bathrooms, a fully renovated master bedroom as well as outdoor balcony furniture. They will also have a separate dining room that overlooks The Haven Horizon Lounge.
